Week One in the City--June 6, 2016

Elders Catacora and Gozart
Holy crap this area is so crazy!  It's super cool though.  I'm with Elder Silva from Brazil.  He is learning Spanish here, and only has 4 months so I'm helping him with his Spanish, and leading all of the lessons and stuff.  But he's super cool, really chill.  He likes to work and teach and is just really cool.  He plays the ukulele, break dances, speaks Portuguese, and can do all these Brazilian dances.  So much to learn!!
The area is great.  The people here LOVE the missionaries, even our investigators give us dinner and lunch.  I'm going to get all fat again!  When I stayed at the office house before coming here, I weighed myself--160 pounds.  I've lost like 40 pounds!  Hermana Klein was really worried about me, but I'm totally fine.  Healthy, happy, obedient, working--life's great!
The area is a little more hilly, with lots of cool views.  They built a bunch of walls and gates in our neighborhood to control it a little more.  It's like the Berlin Wall!  We have to jump a fence every day to get to our area.  So crazy!  But don't worry about my safety.  We are really obedient, and it's honestly not that crazy here.  We aren't all the way downtown, but close.  It's a big city but dirty and more confusing and crazy than cities at home.  There were other elders here so it's not like we're starting over.  But it's a little, well a lot, different.  It's not bad--it's just a lot of new investigators and we aren't super familiar with the branch.  Little things that you grow used to from the old missionaries that now aren't there.  Just a different phase of the work.
We have 4 elders in our house, which is super fun, but a little cramped and really dirty from the other missionaries.  We've already played Monopoly twice, and like a million card games.
Now I'm in a really small branch, like 40 people, but it's nice.  The people are good.  The good news about my birthday is we have a multi-zone conference that day!  So it will be really cool.  I'm super excited!
I'm so excited to work here.  I have a good comp and a good area and we are going to work like crazy!  These last 2 days we found 12 new people to teach!!!

LOVE YOU!!!

We were burning a ton of stuff from the house.  They closed our area,
so we don't need the house anymore, so we burned stuff to celebrate.
