Big Changes--May 30, 2016

So it's been 2 weeks since I wrote, and I have some news.  First of all, I've really come to love my comp.  We figured out how to enjoy the companionship and now it's great.  I've loved this change.  We work hard, I love the area, everything is perfect.  We see the office elders a lot because they live and work close to us, so I see Aldrich, Rosales, Sandoval, Arrevalo, Solis, and Wilks a lot and they are the best.  They are so much fun.  We play soccer with them, hang out, work with them, we are super close.  I love the relationships I make here.  Except they always end early because of changes.  But still, I love it here.  I have so much fun, and get to see the work of God everyday.  It's an incredible, humbling experience.  I love this area sooooooooo much.  The members, investigators, less actives, inactives, even the people who have nothing to do with the church but I see a couple of times a week--I love them too!  I can't complain about anything.  The ward is super strong, like the best in the stake.  My comp's fun.  I love it.
And then this week came.
First of all, we had a baptism.

Her name is Valeria, I don't remember if I've talked about her.  She's 12, but super mature, and really smart.  She skipped a grade in school, speaks Ingles, and really gets the gospel.  We've been working with her for a while now and she told us she felt ready for baptism.  It was a great experience.  She's been visited by the missionaries since January, so it's been a while, but she's sure of her decision.  The ward mission leader baptized her, I led the event, and my comp spoke, and the hermanas sang.  Super great baptism.  The only scary part was we got to the church 30 minutes before the baptism, filled the font, did the chairs and everything.  The baptism was planned for 3:00.  3:00 passed, and no one!  3:20 her and her family showed up and still NO ONE else.  We were panicking, but it ended up a full room, l representatives from the different organizacions, everything.

But the crazy part of this week is something else.  The AP's told us that the mission is losing tons of missionaries, and no one is coming so they have to close some areas.  That's right, they're going to close us.  I'm sooooooooo sad about it.  I love the people here soo much.  I almost cried when they told us, but don't tell anyone, haha!  Then we had to go show the area to the hermanas that are going to cover all of it, so we went along with the two hermanas, saying goodbye to everyone.  That was sucky.  My comp is new, so he isn't sad, just mad he's already leaving.  But for me, it was rough!  Six people cried when I told them.  I was getting a little close to losing it, but we made it.  The hermanas are going to have a HUGE area, like ancient times.  My comp is going to another area that's close, which is kinda funny, but he will be in a different ward.
The mission is actually going to open a new zone in San Pedro.  We are going to steal some area from the other mission, and open some new areas.  And that's where I'm going.  I'm going to the frontier to open an area.  Really close to downtown of San Pedro.  I'm going to be with a guy from Brazil, that just finished his training.  He's really new.  His name is Elder Silva and he's the first Brazilian missionary in like two years.  I'm pretty excited to meet him.  I'm soo sad, but also really excited.  I'm opening a ZONE!  It's all an experiment.  It was be great because president sent some REALLY good missionaries there to start up everything. No sure why I'm there, but I'll do my best, and I'm pretty optimistic.  It's emergency transfers, so it's all happening on Wednesday.  I'm sad to leave, but super excited to see the new zone.
Today we went to the Olympic stadium of San Pedro to play soccer.  It's huge and really cool.  I've been practicing soccer a lot, and I just bought some new soccer shoes, so I was really excited.  We played against the other zone, Satelite.  My dad was there, Nunez!  It was sooo fun.  Then we ate lunch and came here. After this we have to go help close the house and area and all that.  It's not super fun, but a unique experience.  Man the mission's crazy, like, just insane!  haha!
Love you guys!!!!!
te quiero mucho, gracias por tu amor y todo que me das.
[I love you, thank you for everything you do for me.]
