"Seek of the Family"--May 16, 2016

So this week we had changes.  Garnica is my new ZL, which is pretty cool.  The last day we had together we went to visit all our investigators and some members.  The next day I had to wait for my new comp, so I got to hang out with a ton of other gringos--that was a super fun time.  I saw Elder Saunders, who I met in my first area, and he's about to die next change.  So that was good to see him.
Then I got Elder Catacora, my new comp, and we started visiting.  This change we want to put a ton of emphasis on working with members, so we went around getting to know all the members that live in our neighborhood.  There's isn't a ton, but we still are missing a lot that I don't know.

My new comp is from Bolivia.  He's pretty cool.  He teaches really well, but he's controlling. But in the house and on the street he's pretty chill.  We're working on it, and he's definitely willing to change, so we should be good.  I think this companionship will turn out really good.

This whole week was the "Seek of the Family" for the Church, so we had a ward family home evening and we had like 4 investigators go.  It was pretty good--they talked about indexing and family history.  We saw a really cool video, which I assume is called "Waiting, Hoping" in English.  On Wednesday there was a bus that passed through our area and the hermanas' area, so we filled the bus with less actives and investigators.  It was a big school bus too!  That night was an open house, so all the different organizations presented about different things of the church, so food storage, and Strength for the Young, and auto sufficiency (there's a better English word for that!), stuff like that.  And we had like 6 investigators there.  YES!
And then Friday night was a talent show, complete with a Star Wars dance thing from the Elder's Quorum president, and like 8 investigators went to that.
On Saturday we did some intense service for the church, cleaned the church building, like--washed the chairs, and the trash cans, everything.  Then we played soccer and ate hot dogs.  This ward is soooo great.  I can't wait to work with them to improve the ward.
So we spent almost the whole week at the activities, or introducing my comp, but we are set up for a great change.  I hope so.
I really love this ward and area, I actually hope I stay here for a while, and my old hope was to never be in one area for too long, but I really love it here.
I want to say that I love you guys a ton.  I feel your support, and you're a big influence and motive for me.  I hope all of you feel the Spirit of the missionary work, it really is the work of salvation.  LOVE YOU!!  I love hearing from you!
