Lancetilla--Feb 1, 2016

Hi Mom!
Pretty crazy week! ;)
Life is pretty good here.  Our district has a reputation of being really hard, because the work here is really slow.  The area also got messed up by a couple elders in a row that were leaving so they offended all the members and bunch of investigators.  It's called "crapiando un area", or crapping an area.  But honestly, I like it here.  It's super calm and the people are always willing to talk and are easy to talk to.  But it is slow for baptisms.

Life in Honduras in general is pretty good.  It's getting hot again--super hot.  But I'm definitely more adjusted to it.  I love all the weird "MacGyver-ed" stuff.  It's pretty great and I'm figuring it all out.
The investigators are good, but can be difficult.  I've had people tell me that they believe the church is true, but won't be baptized because their dad and grandpa were Catholics.  Oh well.  :)  The biggest struggle for us right now is getting people to church on Sundays.
I don't think my companion is getting any better.  It's not like we fight or anything, but he just makes me mad cuz of how he treats people.  Kinda rude, and he always has to put other people down and brag about all his stuff.  Last week he wouldn't stop telling me that my baptisms didn't even count because they were young and his were all better.  Pretty annoying.  Maybe pray for us to have a better companionship.  I'm not sure what to do.

We do have one awesome investigator.  He had a date to be baptized the 13th, but after we watched a movie about Thomas Monson, he turned to me and said, This has got to be true.  Can we move my date up one week?  So that was awesome.  We have some other good ones, but they really have trouble getting to church.  People here are just super laid back.

Week in Review:
Tuesday:  We had a division with the zone leader, Elder Patterson.  He's super cool.  He got 7 baptism dates, and found a ton of new people.  He really understands how the Spirit works.
Weds:  We tried to do some family history with a family, but it's super hard.  The internet was slow, and they forgot their password.  But we made progress.  Next week I'm going to take pics of them and put them on the site, then they'll both write something about the other for future generations.  Awesome.  We also found someone to be our cook!  Every meal costs 2 dollars, so we know it's quality.  I mean, that's soooo expensive!
Thurs:  It was really cold.  I mean, I love it, but everyone thinks it's crazy.  I always say that if there's not snow, it's not cold.  Everyone freaks out when I say that.  It's fun!  We found one of our investigators in the street, playing soccer with some kids, so we jumped in, played for 15 minutes, then taught the investigator, and the kids we played with.  Best kind of contacting in the world.
Today we went to Lancetilla, the crazy jungle place, as a zone.  Super fun.  I took a ton of pics and a video as us being Nature Planet guys.  Super fun.
Life in general has been good.  The language basically isn't a problem.  I don't mean that as in I know Spanish perfectly, but I have no fear of speaking incorrectly or asking how to say something.  And I can always explain the word I'm missing, so I'm loving that!
It's been incredible to see how God answers prayers.  I feel like here, I can see that effect so easily in my life and in others.  The plan that God has for us really is perfect, and super complicated.  I heard a cool talk that said that even though God made the mountains, rivers, sun, every flower and animal, his greatest joy and focus is us.  That's pretty incredible.

Love you guys.  Always remember that God has already planned for every moment of your life, it makes life easier to live.
