Out of the CCM and into the City! --Sept 29, 2015

A new group pic in front of the CCM.  Ben is on the back row, 2nd from the right.
We got to go to the temple today.  It is in English, but the workers have some of the thickest accents I've ever heard in my life.  I love every second of it.

I love the pictures--I promise they don't make me homesick, just super happy.

The weeks are going by so fast now!  It's insane!  Later today my district is taking a bus downtown!!  We get to go to Wendy's, a store, and apparently my companion and I are supposed to place a Book of Mormon!  I'm soo excited but a little nervous.  I know the Spanish out there is twice as fast as the Spanish spoken in here.  But I can't wait to see how it goes!

This last week, the group two weeks ahead of us has been getting ready to leave.  We know them really well by now, and I've never been so close to someone I've only known for 4 weeks.  We had a little bit of a prank war, which was hilarious.  We have pretty different schedules, so we have a lot of free time when they are in class, and vice versa.  They built a mannequin thing in our room with clothes and everything.
So we stole their mattresses.
Then they moved all our beds around.
So we put an alarm clock in the ceiling of their rooms.
But one day, we walked into the CCM from sports and there was a crowd around our room.  We walked in to see they had moved all the cabinets to make a literal maze.  It was insane!  At the back they built a fort out of bed frames and chairs!  Funniest thing I've seen in a long time!

Emmy asked about the best and worst things I've eaten--the grossest thing was this weird bean and yogurt meal for breakfast.  It was kinda weird.  But we also eat hamburgers and pizza eery once in a while, so that's awesome.  The best thing is this soup that comes in a huge bowl.  They also give you a chicken leg, rice, beans, a weird dough wrapped in corn husk stuff and guacamole.  Then you mix it how you want and eat it all.  Super delicious, especially when you get the perfect combination.

The Spanish just keeps getting better and better.  I honestly love it here.  Class goes by so fast, and I'm learning a billion times faster than at school.  The teachers are all really cool.  My district just really connected recently.  It's awesome.  I love being here, it couldn't be more exciting.  However, I can't wait to leave in two weeks.  Honduras better be ready for me!  I'm learning a lot about Honduras from Latinos that lived in San Pedro Sula.  They say the money is called limpiras and the exchange is 23 for $1.00.  The city is supposed to be absolutely beautiful as well as the coast and jungle.  I can't wait to meet the people.  And apparently people there "eat" their s's--so it's "como eta", not "como esta".  Pretty crazy.

I got the letters yesterday.  I loved them sooo much.  It's awesome getting mail because you have it to reread whenever you want.  They gave me the letters while I was in the middle of a basketball game. Obviously I jumped out and tore the letter open.  Then they told me, It's time to exercise, no reading letters yet.  I was going crazy!  But it was worth the wait.  I love the letters.

Things are going great here.  No joke, time is flying by.  The Spanish is coming along and my district is united like never before.  As nice as all this is, I couldn't be more excited to get out into the field.  It sounds so different.

LOVE YOU GUYS

  1. Ben sounds like a missionary on fire ready to engage in the work! What a blessing he will be to the people in San Pedro Sula. What a blessing he is to us as well. He is my favorite missionary!
