Spear Fishing and Great News for the Tela Branch --Jan 18, 2016

So this week was crazy.  I did a division with a youth here while my comp was in a leaders meeting.  It was pretty fun.  It was awesome because usually when I talk to him, it’s difficult, because he talks about a lot of different topics, but in lessons, my Spanish is way better, so he was impressed with my Spanish.  It was cool to work with a member and show him the missionary life.

This week I also got a little sick.  I’m better now, but it was a rough couple days.  On Thursday night I got super tired, so I went to bed at 9:00.  I woke up at 11 and every half hour after to throw up.  And not a light easy barf.  Some bowel changing stuff!  I’ll spare you the details, but all of Friday I was laying in bed.  I had NO energy.   I couldn’t stand up, walk to the bathroom, and barf without a break.  I feel asleep on the floor in the bedroom, hall, and bathroom, and everything hurt really bad.  The pressure from laying on the bed hurt my back.  I was not right.  Saturday was a little better and by now, I’m better.  I did have to go on some antibiotics because a couple times, my barf had a little blood in it.  Just a couple times.  I think I fasted 6 straight meals!  But I’m back to normal now.   There’s two sisters that are the nurses for the mission.  We just call them when someone’s sick, and they tell us what to do.  And you can buy a ton of pills and stuff here.  I went to a pharmacy, but there’s also just dudes walking around with handfuls of pills that they sell.  That’s a big NOPE!

Today for P Day we went fishing, which was awesome!  With a spear gun and all that—Sweet!  The members that brought us swam, but me and my comp fished off a dock.  I was too scared of dropping my camera to get photos.  Didn’t catch a thing either!  I’m not very good with the spear gun thing.  And afterwards we played baseball with a stick and ball with a big family.  Super fun.

I also had my interview with Pres. Klein.  We have them every 3 months.  Nothing super exciting about it, but it’s always fun to talk with President.  He also came to announce that the branch I’m in is becoming part of a stake, and eventually will be a ward.  I’m SO EXCITED!  It will take about a year, so I’ll be long gone, but it’s awesome to know.  I’m so happy for these people.

I got a huge group of packages and letters.  I love the calendar!  I don’t hang it on the wall because I’ll get baggie [want to go home] but I open it every day.  And I got the sunflower seeds.  They’re SO GOOD.  It’s perfect to send because they never get old or melt or anything.

I also got the package from the priest’s quorum.  HILARIOUS!!  But the candy cane opened and melted and covered everything.  But I loved it!  The Hanukkah card was perfect.  Not sure about that super manly pink fan, but whatever--I use it in the house.  Tell everyone thanks!!
Maybe tell everyone that any package will most likely be exposed to like 140 degrees and punched a couple times.  Never know.

Me and Elder Martinez
It’s getting easier to be with my comp.  It always takes about 1-2 weeks to figure out the new system and adapt to a different 24 hour guy.  But it’s all good now and we’re working super effectively.  It’s been great.  It’s been fun because it’s his first time being DL so we’re learning together kinda.  We have like 8 people with a baptism date, so if the usual amount of them drop, we should have 2 this change!!
