I just remembered that I need more contacts. I don't know if you could send that with the debit card? It is too late?
So this week we have been preparing a lot for our conference with Craig C. Christensen this Monday. I've been studying a lot, and trying to pay more attention to little thoughts that might be the Spirit, so that's been great. And I'm soo excited for the conference.
Today we went to the traffic police place because my new comp crashed the car, so all week I've been calling insurance and tow trucks and mechanics and stuff like that. I've been traveling EVERYWHERE to fix the car and it's finally done. We went to the police place today to finish everything, and I learned how to get a Honduran driver's license and now I totally want one! I'm working on getting it right now. Pres thinks it would be pretty nice to have because cops always pull us over and freak out when they see our license from the states. The police here just stand around stopping random cars all day, and it's super annoying! A Honduras license should help with that a lot.
Sorry I have 0 pictures to send to you guys. I'll try and copy some of Nunez's pics and send them in Google photos.
[I sent Ben an envelope and hid his new debit card inside. I tried to tell him where it was hidden.]
I'm sorry, I have no idea what you are talking about--I don't know where to look. hahahah! You are so good at hiding the card! It's awesome--I feel like a secret agent in Honduras. hahaha!
Secret Agent Gozart, reporting in!
I will try to find a camera here. There are a lot of pawn shops and stuff like that. I'm totally, 100% ok from the crash and the robbery. It's just part of the secretary life! :)
I feel totally fine. It was a quick experience, and honestly I didn't freak out or anything. I'm not scared to leave or anything like that. I'm just a little wiser now, haha! I'll try to buy a new camera here, but I'm not sure what to do about the backpack. I want to find some cool Honduras type backpack somewhere. It was my Spanish scriptures that got stolen, that makes me pretty sad. It had most of my notes and thoughts from my mission. But it's a good chance to start over with better organized notes and markings. There were 8 of us and they robbed everyone, including the family that lives at that house. I think I can replace everything here except my scripture case. I need to go to Guatemala to get one, so that's a little more difficult.
Nunez is fine too. They only stole his phone and scriptures. I lost my mp3 players as well. I DON'T want a replacement. I'm fine without it, but it does stink.
[We suggested maybe he could find HIS camera in one of the pawn shops!]
I would love to see my camera in a pawn shop. I'm worried that a new camera here is going to be way too expensive. I'll look into it.
As for the crash, I wasn't driving. My new comp was getting used to driving again. He turned at a stop sign onto a 2 lane, one way road. He accidentally entered into the far lane just a little, but the other car was flying! He hit our right front tire with the corner of his car. We are both fine, but without a car.
That is awesome you know Elder Christensen! If I get to talk to him, I'll ask about the Menloves.
I miss the snow SOOO MUCH! It looks so beautiful at the cabin. I wish I was there to see it. Hopefully it snows a ton this year too!
I had a really interesting spiritual thought at like 11:30 last night. I was thinking about TV antennas--like the old ones. If someone ever has a bad connection or the signal isn't clear, they always try to fix their antenna. No one has EVER blamed the TV station on the bad communication. So it's totally impossible for us to try to blame God if we don't understand a revelation. The only problem we will ever have is on our end. We should always focus on improving our antenna. If we want a clearer signal, we need to adjust our listening to the Spirit.
